When you want a true African breakfast, you’ve got to wake up early—otherwise, it quickly turns into lunch 😅😉.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of akloui flour (or millet/corn flour) 🌾
- 1 liter of water 💧
- Fresh lemon juice 🍋
- Sugar to taste 🍯
Preparation:
1️⃣ Prepare the akloui paste:
Mix the akloui flour with a little water to form a smooth and consistent paste.
2️⃣ Cook the porridge:
Bring the remaining water to a boil in a saucepan.
Pour the akloui paste into the boiling water, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
Let it cook on low heat, stirring continuously, until the porridge thickens (about 10–15 minutes).
3️⃣ Flavor:
Remove from heat and add sugar 🍯 and lemon juice 🍋 to taste.
Stir well to ensure an even flavor.
Serve hot with a slice of bread 🥖 or fritters for a complete breakfast.
